Regal Inn 162 Asworth St Hampton Beach

I called this hotel a month ago to find out when they closed, as we had a nice stay there 5 yrs. ago. The woman I talked to yhis time told me the middle of Oct. So we made reservations for 4 night in Sept. When we arrived we had to go down 4 blocks to get the key because no one was at this place. The following day we want to use the jacuzzi which is off the office, once again I walked 4 blocks to ask to use the facility which they advertise. We finally got the door unlocked and use the tub which was absolutly filthy. When we got out out bathing suit were full of sand and we had a film on our body. The heated pool outside was green, the phones were shut off so we couldn%26#39;t even call the other office or order food out. Not everyone has a cell phone these days. The cable for the had only a few channels, the rest were unwatchable. On our third day we didn%26#39;t even get our roon cleaned, we left for the day and came back at 3:00PM and the bed was unmade and no clean towels, trash unemptied. Once again I walked the 4 blocks to the other motel to complain, the owner told me she would see what she could do, unfortunatly that was nothing. THe second day we were there we asked for light bulbs for the room and the cleaner said there was none, This was the worst 5 day vacation that I have had in my 56 years of life, my husband brought me up here for my Birthday which was turned into a disaster. I wouldn%26#39;t recommed this place to even my worst enemy.

I can NOT believe you and your husband drove all the way up from Connecticut and stayed at that dive, you poor things!

My question to you is HOW did you ever last beyond the FIRST hour and the first night? I%26#39;d be out that door so fast your head would have spun! How%26#39;d you last that long there? What a shame! If you read further down in the posts here on the forums you%26#39;ll see a situation that happened to a couple and I answered them by telling them that whenever we have people visiting the seacoast we only have them stay at 1 or 2 places over at that beach and that%26#39;s IT, we won%26#39;t recommend any of the others because of too many ';stories'; like this that we heard from WAY too many people! I%26#39;ll just copy it here so you can see what happened to them. It%26#39;s just unbelievable. I think either the Attorney General%26#39;s Office or the Hampton Beach Chamber of Commerce needs to get wind of this--FAST! Some one in this State needs to wake up and get there acts together, especially in this day and age with lawsuits the way they are! It%26#39;s incredible what is happening to so many people! May be the Better Business Bureau should investigate this one.

So sorry about your nightmare vacation! As an important suggestion? Next time you go on vacation go online and make sure there%26#39;s pictures of where you%26#39;re staying! A LOT of pictures, or go to the place first and check it all out then pay them if you like the place. This Regal Inn has things to hide obviously because there%26#39;s not ONE picture online of it that I could see, not one! That should always be your first clue that there%26#39;s something seriously wrong with a place! Make sure you remember that? Especially at that Hampton Beach or any place like it IF there are out there! You want to make sure where you stay is AAA approved and also make sure it has the BBB on the window, they can get in a LOT of trouble if they%26#39;re not! This should certainly be addressed with the Attorney General%26#39;s office and I think you should fight tooth and nail to get your money back, seriously!

Here%26#39;s from another visitor to Hampton Beach: you have to read this one! I answered her below this, I feel terrible about it too and hopefully some one in this State besides me will pay attention to what%26#39;s being said!

Here%26#39;a the other post regarding Hampton Beach here:

Save yourself a headache and avoid any of the Bolyea properties which are the Kentville, Ships Inn Resort, and Sea Spiral Suites. They are theives and have the worst managment of any hotel I have stayed at and I am a frequent traveler. We had car trouble and called The Ship%26#39;s Inn early to let them know we would be a day late. They told us no problem but they would be keeping our deposit. The supposed general manager actually laughed at the fact that we were out $130. We did call back and found out they did rent out our room that night. When we called the next morning to confirm we would be there they said too bad the man we talked to canceled our whole reservation and they had already rented out our room for the whole week we reserved it for. They refused to refund our deposit since they could not render the services the deposit was there for.

We in the end could not get a room since it was Saturday and everything was booked up. So much for our 18 hour trip to the sea coast. I talked to upper managment after having the second man I talked to give me a fake name and the phone number to Domino%26#39;s pizza instead of the upper managment number. I was told too bad even with proof of our repair bill and their error they never ever return deposits. He even said he has had families cry and send him death certificates and he has never given back a deposit and never will. Kind of sad that people like that exhist but they do so beware.

There are a LOT of Motels over at Hampton Beach and I agree 100% with the previous post, it%26#39;s very true what was said! A lot of them over at that beach are there to make a buck and they%26#39;ll do terribly gross things like that, it%26#39;s a disgrace. I could write a book about what I%26#39;ve heard from people! It%26#39;s just sickening and it%26#39;s been going on over there for years and years, trust me I know because I live 2 miles from that beach. There%26#39;s not a whole lot any one can do about it but NOT recommend those Motels to one single soul which is what we do, we always tell people the following info and that%26#39;s IT for the places at that beach! I worked as a teenager at the Marguerite Motel and if people just want to stay there for a concert at the Casino then it%26#39;s a good location. It was always very clean believe me I know! The address is 112 Ashworth Ave 1 800 422-2079. If you don%26#39;t want to stay on Ashworth Ave and would rather stay along the beach then the other one that was always clean and very reasonable is the Aegean Motel at 345 Ocean Blvd. 926-4600. My cousins stay there every summer and never had any problem and I saw what the rooms and staff was like there many times and they%26#39;re fine. They%26#39;re located right a long the Ocean past the Tastee Tower Pizza and the statue. It%26#39;s actually a much better location than Ashworth Ave. and it always was a better area all through the years! It%26#39;s not too far from the Ashworth Hotel; which is where you DON%26#39;T want to stay because the rooms are so tiny it%26#39;s not even funny! I had friends that stayed there last year, I thought I was seeing things when I saw there room! Don%26#39;t even THINK about staying there! It has a great brunch/buffet though so check that out if you wanted to, it%26#39;s very good.

The INN of HAMPTON is really nice. It%26#39;s not at the beach at all but within driving distance over on Rte 1. It%26#39;s at 815 Lafayette Rd. and the telephone # is 603 926-6771, for people that just want to shop in the region and have dinner. They have the Eatery Restaurant in the back of the motel that%26#39;s quite good for breakfast or lunch. Sorry about the Hampton Beach Motels not looking that great and those mentioned here in the previous post! It%26#39;s a downright disgrace pulling that on people, I would think the State or the Attorney Generals Office should wake up and realize this is going on! The more I drive over that beach? The worse they get too; you%26#39;re right! It%26#39;s such a damn shame! A lot of those motels really do nothing for me, no wonder tourism has gone down over there!

What a disgrace! Good luck!
