For her bachelorette party, my sister would like to go away for a night or two, somewhere on the water, in July %26#39;07. The trick is that she doesn%26#39;t want her bridesmaids to have to shell out a lot of cash for the occasion. So I%26#39;m looking for places on the ocean where if we doubled-up (4 to a room, each with 2 double beds) we wouldn%26#39;t be spending a ton of money. She wants a mellow weekend, so it%26#39;s not important to be close to bars. Any suggestions?
Need bachelorette suggestions
Hi DGO,
There%26#39;s an Econo Lodge Inn %26amp; Suites located at 2 Brickyard Lane in York, ME that%26#39;s advertising affordable nightly rates from $69 to $79 a night and they have an indoor pool. It%26#39;s conveniently located near many area attractions such as historic York Village, Kittery%26#39;s Shopping Outlets, York Beaches, Cape Neddick, York Harbor, and Portsmouth%26#39;s Strawberry Bank.
There%26#39;s SO much to do on the seacoast! Whale watching or hiking on the nearby trails such as ';Aggie'; or ';Mount A'; which is actually Mount Agamenticus, it%26#39;s located in York County, 4 miles west of Interstate 95. The terrain here is the most expansive to be found in southern Maine or the seacoast of New Hampshire, it%26#39;s one of my families favorite places to go hiking.
There%26#39;s the Marginal Way, which is a village hike along a mile-long headland right on the Atlantic Ocean and it would bring you right in to the village of Ogunquit.
SO much to see and do in such little time. You%26#39;d really enjoy it all so much more if you had the time, I know you only have 1 or 2 nights, have a wonderful time and good luck finding the right place and keep checking back here from time to time there could be other suggestions as well!
ONE more place that I think you%26#39;d really like is the Port Inn located at the Portsmouth traffic circle off of 95. It%26#39;s right on Rte 1 at the very end. It%26#39;s got a site that you can check out, it%26#39;s not right on the ocean of course but it%26#39;s SO convenient to get to the beach and the Kittery Outlets as well as Portsmouth and the Harbor for whale watching. The owners here are extremely helpful and will be able to give you maps and great directions, they have excellent rates per night for 2006 so check it out to see what you think. This motel is one of the most cleanest and nicest motels on the seacoast, it%26#39;s kept up extremely nice; wait until you see it, you%26#39;ll see what I mean....
Portsmouth and Rye Beach are only about a mile away, it%26#39;s in a perfect location for so many area attractions:
