Staying on Lake Winnisquam

Hi,

My husband and I are going on vacation with our 4 year old and I was hoping some of you might have suggestions of where to eat close by. We are renting a cottage in Sanbornton.

We are looking for casual dining but something ';lively'; enough to bring her along - something a step up from the chains.

Any suggestions?

You have asked for somewhat of a challange.

In the town of Tilton there are mostly chains. The Tilton Diner is very good and good for kids. My 5 and 3 yr olds refer to it as the pink place. Across the street is Kaliopes restaurant which is good, but personally a little on the pricier side. In Tilton you have all of teh normal chains foods, Chili%26#39;s, Applebees, Uno%26#39;s and the 99 Restaurant. Next to Shaws in the Green Ginger Chinese restaurant which has been good when we have ordered take out.

In Laconia, there is Hectors in downtown, the Soda Shoppe and Loose Biscuits. The last 2 do not sere dinner, but are good local places. Heading down Union Ave there is Fratellos Italian Restaurant, the Galley, CJ Averys Steakhouse. Down the road in Gilford is Patrick%26#39;s Pub, which is a good popular local restaurant. It is smoek free if memory serves me correctly.

There are also some places in Weirs Beach area. JT%26#39;s BBQ is across from Funspot and isn%26#39;t too bad.

I do not know if the local places have kid%26#39;s menu except for the TIlton Diner. If your up in Meredith try Gisupee%26#39;s Restaurant.
