We are planning a family vacation next week in North Conway with about 20 people. Any suggestions of what to do up that way? The ages range from 14 to 75. Thanks!
Things to do in North Conway
There is a great deal to do, from sedentary to active. Take aride on one of several RR trips from N. Conway. The longest ride goes up into a pretty steep-sided ravine (the name of which escapes me now). There are also a ton of outlets and stores. Plus there are a ton of mountains and hiking. There is the Cog Railway, which is expensive ($70 or more per person) but an interesting way to get up Mt. Washington. There is at least one golf course. And one can take a gondola up Wildcat. There is also icy cold lake swimming near N. Conway.
There are wonderful hikes, which is what we like to do. Mt. Washington itself is wonderful. One could also just climb up into Tuckerman%26#39;s or Huntington%26#39;s Ravines without going all the way to the (more touristy) summit. Mt.Jefferson is one of the ';easiest'; presidentials to hike because you start at the highest elevation. Mt. Adams, at a vertical rise of 4500%26#39;, is the toughest. It is wonderful to hike about tree line, but there are many smaller hikes. There will be many books in any bookstore (or outdoors stores) to get more information.
