Arriving with family in Providence Aug.5th, departing Aug.12th. Will rent car and would like to spend the week touring Ivy League schools, spending a half day at each. Would like to have a full day for Dartmouth/Hanover and Cornell/Ithaca. If possible would like to fit in a major league baseball game (any venue) and/or a day at Cooperstown for baseball Hall of Fame. Would sacrifice forays into NYC/Columbia and Philadelphia/Penn in consideration of the time squeeze.
Any help with this itinerary would be much appreciated.
Thanks.

Need help with Ivy League whirlwind tour itinerary
Sounds like you need to catch Brown first. Would then head to New Haven, CT to go to Yale. After that make e beeline to Boston for Harvard then North to Hanover/Dartmouth. FORGET Red Sox game since they are sold out for year. Scalper tix will be an arm, a leg and a ___ ! One exception to that is on day of game a FEW tix go on sale, ie: obstructured views, etc. After Hanover head to Cornell and Cooperstown is on the way. Used to live in Central NY and and have been many times. It is as good or better than what you probably expect.
Need help with Ivy League whirlwind tour itinerary
Here is my suggestion after some research and some assumptions such as do they offer tours on weekends:
Saturday Arrive in Providence
Drive to Cooperstown, NY 5 hour drive
Sunday Spend day at Cooperstown then drive to Ithaca (3 hours away)
Monday Day at Cornell then drive 4 hours to Philly for Penn College.
Tuesday Morning at Penn then drive to Columbia
Tuesday Night Watch Mets at home versus San Diego
Wednesday Drive to New Haven Spend Half Day at Yale
Wednesday Night Drive straight up 91 to Hanover/Dartmouth
Thursday Spend day at Hanover
Thursday Night Drive to Boston
Friday Half Day at Harvard drive to Providence see Brown.
Friday Night Somehow get tix to Red Sox or at least take a tour of Fenway Park.
Saturday Fly Home
I know its a tight schedule but this schedule does not force you to skip anything. I looked at the team schedules, and as I said, assumed college tours are not offered on Sunday.
Please offer commenets and thoughts. Good Luck, you have set yourself up for a big challeng and want to cover lots of ground in 7 days.
