What to do in Manchester?

I%26#39;m in my 20%26#39;s and staying at the Homewood Suites near MHT from 5/22 - 5/29. Any sights/nightlife that I cannot miss while in town? I%26#39;m considering relocating to Manchester area (work in high tech industry), but haven%26#39;t yet visited, just looked at demographics, hotel websites, etc. Any ideas?

What to do in Manchester?

Depending on your age range as suggestions could vary greatly. Just curious on what area of high tech you are in? Software? Hardware? Telecom? The area has lot of opportunities in all those areas. Hotbeds in NH for them are Manchester, Nashua and Portsmouth. All are easy comutes to MHT. Nashua is 17 miles and Portsmouth is 45 miles. Other great news is Boston is only 45-50 miles south and they are LOADED with high tech opportunities. Give us a little more info on what your outside interests are for time off suggestions.

I work for Micron Technology (world%26#39;s 2nd largest CMOS Imager/Flash producer).

Looking for mtn. biking, snowmobiling (not in May, obviously), water skiing, pubs, future ex-wives, etc...

Suggest that you look at:

www.newhampshire.com

www.unionleader.com

www.nashuatelegraph.com

www.boston.com

The first is a gneral nH website, next two are local newspapers and last is Boston Globe website. These will give you a good overview of the area.

Many of what you like in Idaho will be found in NH. From Manchester its 50 M to Boston, 90 M to the Mountains, 60 M to Vermont and 50 M to the ocean (Portsmouth area).

I%26#39;ll bet you%26#39;ll love New Hampshire.

If you%26#39;re from Boise ID, you%26#39;ll love the serenity and tranquility of NH.

Well if you want somewhere to go out at night, some good spots in Manchester are :

- Jillians (pool tables, sports bar)

- The Rover (irish pub)

- Margaritas (mex)

- The Black Brimmer (bar/restaurant)

... I%26#39;m a little old for your crowd so I know there are other bars and clubs around that are 20-something friendly but don%26#39;t know what they are!

Manchester is working hard to get hipper and cooler. There is a free paper called the Hippo press - check it out online : www.hippopress.com - I think that%26#39;s probably a great source for you.

From your interests, I think you%26#39;d really like living here.

If you have time during the day and are interested in the outdoors, drive north on Interstate 93 and take a quick look at the lake region (Winnepesaukee, Squam, etc.) and the White Mountains. For the Squam region, get off at Ashland and drive near the lake. It%26#39;s about an hour from Manchester to Squam Lake. This was where the movie ';On Golden Pond'; was filmed.
