Your request perfectly describes Lafayette Campground in NH%26#39;s Franconia State Park. It%26#39;s right in the middle of Franconia State Park and centrally located to lots of things that 10 year olds would love.

Nearby things are The Flume, Cannon Mountain Aerial Tramway and Clark%26#39;s Trading Post.

Check these links out and I think you%26#39;ll agree that your 10 year old will have a ball!

Along the 26 miles of the Kangamangus Highway, which runs from Rt 93 in Lincoln to Rt 16 in the Conway area, there are several White Mountain Campgrounds. All of these would be what you are looking for. The Kangamangus also offers many trail heads for all types of hiking and is not far from many attractions a 10 year old would enjoy.

I appreciate the advice on camping and I want to also say that after researching the suggestions online that paulamos101 seemed to know exactly the type of experience we are looking for.

Slightly on the primative side but not totally primative. Will find out the end of June how it is. thanks

I hope you enjoy your camping trip to NH... please let me know if this was what you were looking for. If you decide to have a nice dinner away from the campground, try the Common Man in Lincoln... it is one of our favorite restaurants. A short hike for a 10 year old would be Sabaday Falls on the Kanc (as locals call it). If the weather is warm, also on the Kanc is Lower Falls, a great place to sunbath on the rocks and it has a natural slide thru the rocks into a pool at the end. There usually is a father at the end catching the kids... fathers seem to naturally take turns catching. Enjoy!
