Just a couple of quick plugs that may have been mentioned in previous posts:
I was up to North Conway again this past labor Day weekend. The sensational little Italian cafe (I ate there last labor Daybut forgot the name) is Maestro%26#39;s. Saw the name in a previous post and thought that might be it. We planned to eat there again this past Sunday, but alas, they are CLOSED on Sundays. And I recall the same situation last Labor Day weekend. We ate there on Saturday, couldn%26#39;t believe how delicious it was, and returned on Sunday for dinner only to find it closed. Why such a great place would be closed on Labor Day Sunday with all the tourists in town is beyond me. Lots of lost profits, IMO.
So, we searched for a second food option. Right around the corner on the main street, across from Joe Jones, there was this deli/cafe of sorts. We ate here last Labor Day, too, and it was a very average deli, almost cafeteria-like. Much to our surprise this past weekend, it has changed ownership and is now a specialty food cafe sort of like Vermont Country Deli. Tasty looking sandwich board and a bunch of home-prepared dishes in the deli case like angus tips, shrimp/dill salad, grilled veggies, roasted eggplant, etc, etc. And they have several racks of what I believe were Italian specialty foods like jars of peppers, pastas, etc. I don%26#39;t recall the name. It%26#39;s Chef%26#39;s something-or-other. Chef%26#39;s Plate or Chef%26#39;s Place or something. Several tables and 3 comfy leather chairs arranged around a big chest style table. Great place to grab a delicious quick bite of non-fastfood food!
good food in North Conway village
don%26#39;t forget the Muddy Moose on the main road - omg I love that place.
