Two adults, fifties, flying into Manchester NH mid June, trying to find some mountain scenery and a place to chill for a few days. We%26#39;ve been all over the web looking for personal recommendations, coming up empty or confused.
We%26#39;re looking for the NH equal to Crescent Lake Lodge on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington state. If you haven%26#39;t heard of the place, it%26#39;s a gorgeous little cluster of modern cabins and a superb restaurant on a glacial lake 3 hrs west of Seattle we found on a travel board like Frommers.
Budget moderate to maybe a little more.

Here%26#39;s a couple of suggestions. These two are classic New Hampshire grand resorts from the turn of the century. Neither one is on the lower end of the price scale. Both are expensive but also something that you can%26#39;t find in Tampa!

In the reasonable catagory is the Rangeley Inn. This is just across the state line in Rangeley, Maine. This is found in the extreme NW corner of ME just in from the NH border and just south of Quebec. It is moose country which is again something you won%26#39;t see in FL.

In the lakes region is Wolfeboro, a quiet little town on the north side of Lake Winnipauskee.

I don%26#39;t know if I am late or not, but the Sunset Hill House in Sugar Hill, NH is a great little place. It is a Victorian Inn witha NH%26#39;s oldest 9-Hole Golf Course. The views looking over Cannon Mtn and Franconia Notch are hard to beat. Please keep in mind that mid Jun (Jun 10-18) is Motorcycle Week in NH, so there is going to be motor cycles around the state. They like to cruise throught the mountains.
