I just took my Dad up to the White Mountains for a weekend trip and we stayed at the Thayer Inn on Main St., Littleton. It%26#39;s a comfortable, homey place that makes you feel welcome. The redecorated rooms were quite nice, although the age of the inn means that the floors are ';rolling';. Rooms at the front are subject to traffic noise which was not an issue for us since we live in the heart of Boston. The smoking rooms my Dad had on the fourth floor weren%26#39;t redecorated nor nearly as nice, but they were clean and comfortable.
You can%26#39;t beat the verandas to just sit and relax and enjoy the views. I heartily recommend the Thayer Inn.
And--don%26#39;t miss breakfast at the Littleton Diner a block or so up the street. Definitely worth the wait!
Thayer Inn
I would totally agree. It is a comfortable place with old time charm. Floors aren%26#39;t alway level or the door for that matter but we have always enjoyed our stays there. We go back year after year, at least for 10 years now. Scenery around is beauitful and the Littleton Diner is definately worth the wait and the prices are reasonable.

I stayed there a few times - i Love it and the littleton diner is brilliant.
THe last time I stayed there, we went across the road to the Oasis bar for a few drinks -- in the little shopping centre there. We made friends with the bar man and we were talking to him for ages - we left at about 2 a.m. and we were locked out of the Thayers Inn.
We had to go in through the kitchens at the back, after numerous failed attempts to throw stones up to our sister who was snoring.
Its a lovely place and I would recommend it - I love Littleton anyway.
