Hi there
Planning a 1-night stop-over in NH on my way to Vermont in October - found inns I like in both Jackson and Ashland. Any opinions on which town to choose?? I especially like quaint towns, pretty scenery and a choice of places to eat if that helps..!
Many thanks
Ashland or Jackson?Hi -
My vote would be for Jackson - it%26#39;s quaint, historic, and there%26#39;s wonderful food and lodging there. The Christmas Farm Inn and Eagle Mountain House are favorites and both have impressive menus too. We just returned from the area yesterday and you just can%26#39;t beat the scenery, no matter what time of year.
You%26#39;ll be there for some great leaf-peeping too, so enjoy!

Ashland or Jackson?Much more options in the Jackson/North Conway area. Too bad you are there for only one night.....
I second the vote for Jackson. Breathtaking secenery and a covered bridge. Also as already posted, lots more options in the area. Close to the White Mountain National Forest %26amp; Mount Washington. Not far from North Conway for shopd ans restaurants. You%26#39;ll love it!
Hi,
I know the inn in Ashland you must be referring to and it is lovely--but there is not much else in Ashland. Go for Jackson--you won%26#39;t regret it. I recommend the Eagle Mountain House if you want comfortable, quaint, and a long front porch with rocking chairs facing the mountains. For elegant and romantic, go for the Nestlenook Inn. I%26#39;ve been to both, and I%26#39;d be happy to answer any questions. The Thompson House Eatery is the best restaurant in town.
Thanks guys for all this info - Jackson it is!
