Wow! Tough request. NH in April is well ... April in a damp, cold, why am I really here place? With that in mind I would look at SW NH or the Monadnocks. Maple sugar time...will be VERY quiet week days (if open at all) and busier weekends. But that%26#39;s one suggestion. Conway and northern NH MAY still have some snow and skiing ... but it should be limited if at all. My suggestion for April would be Portland, ME. It will still be damp and cold but Portland is a great city....but not sure for kids things.

A possibility for you would be to stay right in Manchester at the Radisson Hotel located on Elm Street. It%26#39;s got an indoor pool that would be ideal for your family. It%26#39;s also located right across the street from the Verizon Wireless Arena:
www.verizonwirelessarena.com
You could check out different things going on at the Arena; there%26#39;s Ice Hockey as well as a really good Ice Show I believe in April. You can view the schedule on their site to see for yourself what you%26#39;d like to check out.
Manchester would be a good location for day trips to other parts of NH such as Concord or Londonderry; or you could just stay within the City area for different shows and things going on. You%26#39;d be surprised at all the attractions right in Manchester alone for your kids to see and do!
For YOU there%26#39;s Home Goods, Marshall%26#39;s etc...right in Bedford and they%26#39;re EXTREMELY good ones! So LOOK for them! We ALWAYS have to hit them when we%26#39;re over by there!
For a really good Italian restaurant? You will be right near our favorite Piccolo%26#39;s restaurant right on Elm Street if you end up staying at the Radisson Hotel there! It%26#39;s WONDERFUL there so look for it and make reservations!
Another possibility for a place to stay is the Bedford Village Inn; it%26#39;s really really nice here! I don%26#39;t know what your budget is though. Attractions Near The Bedford Village Inn are listed right here after their site:

As you can see there%26#39;s quite a lot of different places that you could go to from the Bedford Village Inn or even from the Radisson Hotel in Manchester, they%26#39;d both be pretty convenient to these various places listed.
Get your map out and check out these different places mentioned for a change of pace, this way you wouldn%26#39;t be where every one else is (Up in the White Mountains!). Is it the MASS. April Vacation that is different from NH%26#39;s? If it IS different than you%26#39;re in luck with getting in to these places without huge crowds!
Just a thought....Have Fun!
Trust me here, there will be no huge crowds anywhere in NH in April unless there was a super concert at the Verizon....which there isn%26#39;t. April is down time or almost time. May is better as is June, etc.
