Hey, can anybody tell me what kind of road Rt 101 is between Milford and Keene? I%26#39;m guessing it is not a highway stretch like 101 between Manchester and Portsmouth???
Traveling from Pepperell, MA, to Mt. Snow in southern Vt and trying to determine what the route would be like:
Rt 122 from Pepperell up thru Hollis to Milford, then Rt. 101A/101 from Milford to Keene, then Rt. 9 thru Brattleboro and over to Wilmington.
I know Rt. 9 in the VT stretch, but I%26#39;ve never traveled across southwestern NH. It might be very scenic, but maybe I ought to stick to Rt. 2 to Rt. 91 if time is a factor??
Rt 101 thru southern NH
It%26#39;s been about five year since I traveled this road, and so things may have changed, but as I remember it wasn%26#39;t bad. It%26#39;s not as cruvey as route 9, and it was congested with traffic. I don%26#39;t however remember anything outstanding about views.

Is it basically a slow local road, though? Kinda like driving Rt. 28 north from Salem up to Hooksett?
Hi, just stumbled across your post. Rt. 101 from your location is probably not the best route to take if time is your concern. From Milford to Keene would take you about an hour. You can zip along at 50+ mph but you best slow down (to 30) entering the small towns this two lane road winds through. It is a scenic route but not a fast mover like Rt. 2 is, at least as far as Athol, before it too turns to a two lane highway. But Rt. 2 is still probably your best bet.
