Lobster Shack

I%26#39;ll be staying in York Maine, and a night in Porstsmouth NH , in September and I%26#39;m also looking for one of those places, where they eat the lobster outside, overlooking the water.. How much can we expect to pay? I%26#39;ve never had lobster before, and I thought no better place to try it for the first time then in Maine or New Hampshire.

Try Chauncey Creek Lobster Pier in Kittery. It%26#39;s my favorite of the bunch. http://www.chaunceycreek.com/

You claim your picnic table under a covered or uncovered dock that runs alongside the banks of the creek. It%26#39;s a great place and don%26#39;t forget to bring your own booze!

Lobster prices are pretty high right now but I%26#39;m thinking you can eat for two for $50 plus you%26#39;ll be saving money on the drinks.

Also, the Ogunquit Lobster pound is really nice as well. It%26#39;s just a short drive from York as is the Cape Neddick Lobster pound http://www.capeneddick.com/index.html.

I%26#39;ve never been a real fan of Foster%26#39;s Clambake but it%26#39;s a very popular place.

Thanks for you information. When ever I read the menus, they always say Market Price, but never have any clue, to what the price range is in that ';Market Price';

My local fish market today had pound and a quarters for $6/pound. Chix were $5.25.

Warren%26#39;s Lobster House in Kittery, Maine on Rte. 1 has outside dining. They have been in this same location for a long time. One of my favorite meals is the ';only claws'; meal.

If you travel a bit further, Newicks in Dover, NH (take Rte 16 N from the Portsmouth traffic circle) has picnic table seatig inside overlooking the bay.

So stopping at one of these lobster shacks, would cost about 20.00 and up for a lobster dinner?

Will it still be warm enough to eat outside in Sept? I hear Maine gets cooler faster?

Once again thanks for you replies
