How to find accomodation for one night on a Saturday in the...

I have almost completed my reservations but I have struck a problem. Most B%26amp;B%26#39;s require a 2 day stay at weekends and we only need accommodation for the 12th (a Saturday). Does anyone have any suggestions for somewhere in the lakes region where I might get 1 night?: I presume I will have to look for a motel or hotel.

Good morning Chris Hoskins,

The reason why you won%26#39;t get a room any where at the Lake for one night is because there%26#39;s a 3 night minimum in July for the 12th weekend due to it being Nascar Race Week. In August on the 12th it%26#39;s a 2 night minimum. So Chris, unfortunately you%26#39;re out of luck finding a room at the Lake for one night.

If any one out there has any suggestions you can give, it would be greatly appreciated!

I checked with the Margate:

www.themargate.com

B%26#39;Mae%26#39;s Resort in Gilford is located at 17 Harris Rd.

as well as the Afton Inn in Wolfeboro, but I didn%26#39;t actually contact this Inn, you might want to double check with them, because it doesn%26#39;t say a minimum night requirement any where on there site? So if you want to get in touch with them you can:

www.aftoninn.com

May be if you browse through this site as well you might be able to get some one to contact for a room for one night:

Good luck!

Thanks for the response - it%26#39;s the 12th of August...

I found a couple of motels that would be OK for 1 night.

We are staying on the coast for the first week and wanted to spend some time in the White Mountains. We have been able to get into Carter%26#39;s Notch from Sunday through to Wednesday (when we fly home) but they have a wedding on the Saturday, hence the need for one night somewhere else. The other option is we move further up the coast for a night but that takes us in the wrong direction. The Lakes area was suggested as a good alternative.

If you cannot find one night in the Lakes area of New Hampshire, you might consider western Maine. It%26#39;s a beautiful area, full of lakes and mountains with some lovely little towns.

If I am reading your itinerary right, you are looking for a stop on your way to Jackson? Travelling from the Maine coast to the White Mts. puts western Maine right on your way.

There have been some great reviews of the Inn at Long Lake in Naples, Maine.(www.innatlonglake.com)

Thanks, yes you are right we would be travelling from Near Portsmouth NH, to the White Mountains I will investigate this area further. I';ve found lots and lots of great places, it%26#39;s the 2 night requirement that%26#39;s causing me problems. I think I may have got a possible place at North Conway, which is a little bit too near the White Mountains, however we could explore the Lakes on the way.
