Good eats in Portsmouth?

Does anyone know of where the good eats are in Portsmouth? Pricey is ok. -Thanks

Good eats in Portsmouth?

The Friendly Toast on Congress St. It%26#39;s casual, eclectic and they serve breakfast all day. Funky menu and decor. Try almond joy pancakes or green eggs and ham!

OK, so it%26#39;s probably WAY too late to respond directly to Shawnzo, but for future queries... :)

I agree with Jpan99 about the Friendly Toast. It%26#39;s definitely unique. :) Watch it after 2am, though - it can get pretty busy with people waiting out their alcohol buzz ;)

Portsmouth is a wonderful place to eat - either from your typical chain style food (99 Restaurant, UNO%26#39;s, Bugaboo, Longhorn, TGI Fridays, Applebees, IHOP). When you get into downtown Portsmouth, though, it%26#39;s very non-chain.

Visit www.portsmouthnh.com for a list of restaurants (click on the Restaurants link). It%26#39;s not all-inclusive, but shows a lot of the restaurants.

Portsmouth Gas Light is supposed to have really good pizza, but I never went in the 6 years I lived in Portsmouth. The times I went into the downtown area, I almost always found myself at Muddy River Smokehouse. Country Nachos come highly recommended :) Ooo... and Fowl Balls are also good!

My faves........

Jumpin%26#39; Jays for great seafood.

Muddy River Smokehouse.

Pesce Blue for seafood and pasta.

Flatbread for all organic wood fired flatbreads.

Anthony Albertos for fine italian dining.

Ronaldo%26#39;s, in N.Hampton, for more casual Italian with obscene portions.

Rusty Hammer for good pub fare.

If you%26#39;re in the mood for Italian food, and are out of Portsmouth, I agree with Ronaldo%26#39;s in North Hampton. If you drive another 4 or 5 miles down the road, into Hampton, there%26#39;s also Ron Jillian%26#39;s. More obscene portions, but hey, Italian food reheats well :)
