ok, what is up with the mount washington cog railway? what a joke. 50 bucks to ride a train and suffer with neck pain for a week; talk about backwards, the only communication between the rail car and the engine was a string that the toothless man pulled to get their attention and the string broke...so he unhooked our car from the engine to see if they would notice they weren%26#39;t pulling anything. i had visions of us plummeting down the mountainside with no brakes. when we got to the bottom, i literally kissed the ground that i was still alive and robotically said to my husband...take...me....home.....
cog railway
I loved the cog railway! I%26#39;ve lived in NH for 6 years now and have ridden it several times with friends who are visiting me. It%26#39;s a little expensive but costs a lot to run - and very worth the trip! It%26#39;s an unusual ride and quite the view! Less scarey than the Auto Road. The first time I rode up the cog we got to the top and it was 15 degrees and snowing - in early September! cool!
cog railway
I%26#39;d rather drive.. ;)
It%26#39;s one of only a couple cog railways in the world.
It%26#39;s a real coal fired steam engine.
It%26#39;s a National and Mechanical Engineering Historical Landmark.
You get some great views.
