Hello, Going to The White Mountain Hotel in March, any...
MrFawlty,
WAIT until you see what they did to this Hotel! You%26#39;re talking about the White Mountain Hotel %26amp; Resort right? It%26#39;s incredible now! A few weeks before Christmas we drove up from the Seacoast of NH on a Sunday to their dining room because we heard so much about their brunch. It%26#39;s wonderful if you can try to go to it, it%26#39;s well worth it, if you can get the chance. Go online to see what they have and it%26#39;s SO reasonably priced for a Sunday Brunch! The dining room it%26#39;s held in is JUST beautiful. No matter where you sit you have this stunning view. You%26#39;ll really like it there a lot.
Look for Decades Steakhouse %26amp; Seafood located in downtown No. Conway, that%26#39;s really good I%26#39;m hearing. Don%26#39;t forget Horsefeathers, that%26#39;s still there, and has always been consistant and quite good.
Have a great time, you%26#39;ll really like this Resort! Sorry I can%26#39;t answer your other question about the CAT, I%26#39;m sure some one out there can.

The Mount Washington Observatory offers ';Edutrips';, classes at the observatory at the summit of Mt. Washington. Visit their site at mountwashington.org for more details. You must be in top physucal condition and have the necessary gear for the climate.
There are also limited volunteer opportunities offered to members of the observatory, and transportation to the summit is on the CATs. Before you spend a week at the top in winter, you must volunteer a week during the summer season. It%26#39;s a great experience living at the observatory for the week, cooking and cleaning for the crew. There is quite a waiting list for this.
I am not familiar with the White Mountain Hotel - sorry.
I am also not sure about the CAT up Mt. Washington - but we have gone to the North Conway area every year in March for the past 4-5 years - and we love it.
Muddy Moose in North Conway is great to eat at. And last year the Red Fox (I am 90% sure that was the name of the place) 15 minutes north, up in Jackson was really good.
If you are into hiking you have to make the trip 10-15 minutes north of Jackson to the Appalachian Mountain Club (again - don%26#39;t quote me on these names, I am going by memory). We have hiked up to Tuckerman%26#39;s Ravine - and Huntington Ravine - and these hikes and views are incredible. Give yourself a few hours - but it is a great workout.
By the rate of this winter there will not likely be too much snow in March - but I am hoping I am wrong.
Enjoy your trip!
