Travel Plans

Eleven people going to Bartlett in December. Need advice on airport and transportation to Attitash Mountain Village.Should we fly to Manchester or Portland ME ? Is a shuttle available to the Village? Where are the grocery stores?

Thanks

Fly into Manchester. From there you can head North on Rte 93. As is will be winter you will need to cross over to Rte 16 via Rte 25 through Meredith, NH. The Kancamagus High (beautiful scenbic drive) will most likely be closed if there is snow. Almost all major highways travel North-South in this region. From Portland you could take Rte 302 East to the Mount Washington area, but it is a longer drive.

You will need a rental car. There is a small grocery store in Glen, NH - not far from Attitash, and more options in Conway and North Conway. You could easily stop along Rte 16 on your way up from Manchester.

Thanks so much for your reply.

Hello! I live in Conway, right down the road from Bartlett. Manchester is about a 2 1/2 hour drive and Portland, ME is about 1 1/2 hours. Add about 20 minutes to each to get from Conway to Bartlett. You could get a local shuttle, but it would probably be much cheaper to rent a couple of cars. The shuttles are only mini vans, so you would need a couple of those, anyhow. Grants is the closest grocery store to Attitash, but in North Conway you will find Shaws and Hannaford. Have fun!!

Hi...Lived in Bartlett years ago, and travel back with our group of kiddos at least once a year...the directions and advise already given is right on, just wanted to add one thing, please try to stop by the Bear Notch Deli-Market, right there in Bartlett...you will not believe how good the subs are, or how really good the prices are, have fun...Gen

Yes very good avice already. Definitely rent a car though or you will regret not being able to explore near the resort. Also cheaper to and from airport this way. I would suggest flying into Manchester, it is a little further than Portland but a bigger airport and most flights are very inexpensive. Boston is 3 1/2 hrs away but a back up if you%26#39;re having trouble finding flights.
