This summer we went to Story Land for the first time with our preschool age son. Not only was he delighted with the amusement park, but we were pleasantly surprised by the accommodations we selected. Because it was a last minute trip and because it was summer availability was limited at the more reasonably-priced places to stay. We took a chance and stayed at The Villager Motel. I was a bit skeptical knowing how motels (and even hotels) can sometimes be. It turned out to be more than adequate and clean with friendly and helpful hosts. There is also an outdoor pool and a playground on site. Just down the street is a homemade ice cream shop that has a wonderful play area in the back with a wooden truck, fort and swingset. Kids love it and parents can have a minute of peace while eating an ice cream cone. My son was so taken by the play area that he wasn%26#39;t interested in the ice cream.
The next morning, at the suggestion of the motel owner, we tried out a wonderful, family-run breakfast place called ';A Fresh Start';. Again, this place was clean and family-friendly.
Last but not least The Villager is located very close to Story Land.

Story Land is so much fun for kids and adults! They have lots of rides that are great for little ones to ride, and the adults fit too!
One suggestion I have, if you are planning on staying in the area overnight, is go after 3pm (confirm this info on their website, just in case they decide to change this policy) and then they%26#39;ll give you a pass to use that season for a full day. It%26#39;s great to check out the park for a few hours, and then the kids can plan for the next day also.

Yes, Story Land has been doing that program for years. (Arrive after 3pm, get another day free.)
We did this on several occasions a long time ago. :-)
FYI: Santa%26#39;s Village in Jefferson, NH has the same program.
