Family Fun in the White Mountains

My wife and I are planning a trip to the White Mountains in August. We will be travelling with two small children, ages 5 %26amp; 1. We%26#39;ve heard the White Mountains are beautiful and a great spot for the family. The only thing we know for sure is that we want to stay in a cottage with a full kitchen. As you can imagine, with two small children we are on a bit of a budget. Any recommendations on places to stay, visit or eat would be greatly appreciated.

Family Fun in the White Mountains

Visit Storyland near Glen. Lots of family fun: small rides and even a roller coaster or two; Cinderella and her pumpkin coach, etc. Many changing tables at all rest areas; very family-friendly. One tip I got from a friend: get a ticket late one day and you will also be admitted the next day as well.

There are many hikes, most of them free. (The Flume is quite touristy and costs money.)

Drive the Kangamangus Highway between Lincoln and Conway. It%26#39;s gorgeous. If you cut north into Bear Notch and into Bartlett, you will get to Glen and skip the traffic of North Conway.

The RR rides are fun for kids too.

If you come into Bartlett stop by Moose Tracks Restaurant, very family friendly, reasonable prices, great food; it%26#39;s where the locals go.

Storyland in Glen is a must. Sabbaday Falls on the Kanc (Rt 112) is a great hike for little ones, only about 15 mins. %26amp; very easy.

Folks in Bartlett are quite friendly and eager to show off the area, ask your waitperson at breakfast for things to do %26amp; you%26#39;ll end up here for a month.

A Better Life Cabins in Bartlett might have what you are looking for.
