Shopping Trip

Hi.

I%26#39;m Canadian, visiting NH in Sep. for the tax-free shopping! I%26#39;ve never been, what towns/cities are best located for outlet shopping? I%26#39;m flying into Boston but don%26#39;t want to drive near the airport -- can I catch a train or something to NH and rent a car there?

Any other must-do things while I%26#39;m in the state? (my tourist book is in the mail)

Thanks!

Shopping Trip

Have you considered flying into Manchester, NH? If that%26#39;s not an option, you could take a bus out of Boston to Manchester or Concord NH, but the bus terminal is nowhere near the airport. You would need to take a cab or the subway. Frankly, that would be a lot more difficult than simply renting a car at the airport. If your heading north out of Logan Airport there is no need to drive into the city. You could head up Rte 1A, to Rte 95N.

Your best bet for outlet shopping is North Conway. If you%26#39;re travelling midweek the traffic is not too bad there - weekends can get very busy and create some traffic delays on the main road (rte 16). North Conway is beautifull located in White Mountains and offers great lodging and dining options as well.

Kittery, Maine is another concentration of outlet shopping, but of course you would have Maine Sales Tax.

If you do end up in North Conway, there are many sites worth seeing. The White Mountains are beautiful. What type of activities are you looking for?

Shopping Trip

Madison, NH is 15 minutes from the N Conway outlets. One hour drive from Portland,ME and two hour drive from the Manchester airport in NH. Check out the B %26amp; B %26#39;s in Madison and sleep away from the hustle and bustle. Good luck.
