does anyone know a nice bed and breakfast in Marthas vinyard or nantucket or boston? How far is it to drive from Boston airport and how far to Laconia?
How long of a drive is it from Boston airport to Laconia...
Sorry, can%26#39;t help with a B %26amp; B in Boston or the Islands, but if you%26#39;re heading to Laconia (this is not in the same direction as either Nantucket or Martha%26#39;s Vineyard, and you won%26#39;t even have to go into Boston proper), count on almost 3 hours from Logan Airport. Take Rte 1 to I-95 to Portsmouth, then Rte 16 (Lakes Region) to Rte 11 through Alton Bay along the west shore of the lake. My guess is about 150 miles... the traffic will vary depending on the time of day, and day of the week. A lot of people head to Lake Winnepesaukee on the weekend.
If you wanted a nice B %26amp; B north of Boston, but about 10 miles off the direct route between Boston and Portsmouth, I%26#39;d recommend the one at Castle Hill in Ipswich...

If you need an airport close to Laconia look at flying to or from Manchester, NH. Flights are less expensive, parking cheaper, easier to get to, a better deal all around.
I second that opinion about the Manchester airport!
Although the route isboston recommended may be more scenic, if you just want to get there (Laconia), I%26#39;d suggest I-93 out of Boston all the way up to exit 20.
That way you are at highway speeds for all but the last 10 miles. Of course, at evening commute time (especially thurs and fri) highway speed may mean 10 mph between boston and manchester NH!
W/ out traffic tie-ups, I can make it from Boston to Manchester in about an hour, and from Manchester to Exit 20 (Tilton to Laconia) in about 45 minutes. Add up to an hour if hitting peak traffic.
Saves 30-60 minutes. Also, traffic on 93 is likely to mean trafic on 95 and 16 as well, so the time savings is probably similar during traffic. I must admit though, the ride is pretty dull this way.
Flying into Machester will save you 1 hour+ in drive time, probably some time getting out of the actual airport as well.
